Bartender where he currently remains, as well as maintaining his position as an Extra Board Bartender at Wynn Las Vegas. Shawn has been married to Renae since September 2005 and they have three young children. They like to spend family time together sailing and traveling to San Diego. §

Shawn began working at Wynn Las Vegas when it opened in April 2005. He accepted a position as an Apprentice Bartender to get his foot in the door, although he had completed his Bartender Certification in 1998.

He became a Shop Steward in October 2007 after seeing how things were being run and issues not being addressed because no one else wanted to step forward. Since accepting that position, Shawn has seen success in management becoming more openminded in seeing things from the employee’s point of view. He enjoys having the direct knowledge of different situations and being able to help his fellow workers attempt to resolve issues before they become

a major problem. Being an Extra Board Bartender, Shawn understands the complications of life on the Extra Board and continues to fight for a voice for the much forgotten Extra Board as well as the full-time workers.

Shawn was born in Philadelphia and moved to Las Vegas after graduating from high school. He attended college and began working in hotels as a lifeguard and valet parking before being hired in 1998 at the Tropicana as an Apprentice Bartender. He then began his career of opening new properties (not realizing what he was getting into) when he was hired at the opening of Mandalay Bay as an Apprentice Bartender. He then accepted a promotion to a Bartender at the Excalibur, until he moved to the Las Vegas Convention Center as a Banquet
