Teresa has worked at Mandalay Bay since it opened in March, 1999 but started her career with the company at Circus Circus in March, 1987. She began her career in the buffet as a Food Runner, transferring to Cocktails, followed by Apprentice Bartender and became certified as Bartender in 1996. Teresa is a native Las Vegan, coming from a long line of union workers. Her father was a Sous Chef at the Golden Nugget and her mother was Food Server and Hostess at the Mint. She attended local schools, graduating from Eldorado High School. She is married to Jose, who is also a Bartender in Nine Fine Irishmen at New York New York. They both met as teenagers while working at Circus Circus and became friends, which ultimately |
led to their marriage in 2001. Together they have three children, Christopher, Aubrianna, and Alexis. They love to travel whenever possible, having toured Europe, South America, and Mexico just to name a few and are looking forward to more travel in the future. Teresa has been a Shop Steward at Mandalay Bay since it opened in 1999. She enjoys being able to help her fellow workers who seek advice regarding everyday problems that exist in the workplace. Having personally gone through the Grievance and Arbitration process, Teresa found that her knowledge in being a Shop Steward helped her through the long process which requires a lot of patience and understanding. |
